1. Pashupatinath Temple
Pashupatinath Temple is the Greatest Hindu Temple of Nepal, located one kilometer from Tribhuvan International Airport and five kilometers from Thamel. The Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, enriched with Cultural, Religious, and Historical aspects. From the entrance of the main gate, we feel respect for Lord Shiva. It is one of the sacred Hindu temples listed on UNESCO Heritage sites. The best time to visit Pashupatinath Temple is from 9 AM-11 AM and Evening, 6 PM-8 PM every day, where all four doors are open to the public. Only Hindu devotees are allowed to enter to Temple, where other foreigners can explore the surroundings of Pashupatinath Temple. The temple holds historical and religious aspects too. Near to temple, there is a holy river, "Bagmati", where Hindu Devotees perform Hindu Ritual Rites and cremation rituals. From the main entrance of Pashupatinath temple, you will encounter many Sadhus, Santas, and Priests. You can do local shopping for Lord Shiva's souvenirs for friends and Family.
2. Bouddhanath Stupa
Located on a busy street, Bouddhanath Stupa is a sacred site for Buddhist devotees. With an NPR 100 entrance for Indian Nationality and an NPR 400 entrance for foreigners, you will enter to Bouddhanath Stupa. It is one of the oldest stupas in the world, with the largest stupa in South Asia and the second largest in the World. In ancient times, it was also the main Trade Center for the Tibetan People. The Tibetan People came here for trading materials and back to Tibet. At Bouddhanath Stupa, the visitors rotate the prayer wheel or mani wheel attached to the wall, which is full of Buddhist Mantras. You can also explore the Buddhist market for souvenirs. You can have coffee in a local restaurant roof and observe the beauty of the Bouddhanath Stupa and prayer flags.
3. Swayambhunath Stupa
Swayambhunath Stupa is another Buddhist site listed on UNESCO World Heritage sites, nestled three kilometers from Thamel to west. The site is a combination of both Hinduism and Buddhism. If you can walk, you can start walking for around 365 steps straight up. If you are unable to walk, the vehicle goes up halfway, and you walk halfway to reach the hilltop. With an entrance fee of NPR 50 for Indian nationals and NPR 100 for Foreigners, you enter to Swayambhunath Stupa.
